Am I allowed to create one?
Yes! You are more than welcome to create a Tarael, however, you must make sure to follow the rules below:
Here are some guides
Here are some art resources / bases
- For a MYO (make-your-own), you are allowed unlimited common (green) traits on one Tarael, and only one uncommon (yellow) trait!
- There is absolutely no limit to the number of Tarael that you're allowed to make!
- You cannot sell Tarael adoptables for any sort of profit; free adoptables are more than alright!
- If you do create adoptables, you must follow the very first rule (trait limitation to unlimited common and one uncommon)

How are Tarael's labeled according to rarity?
To put it simply, Tarael's are labled as the rarity of their highest-rare trait, with a minor exception to common Tarael with only one uncommon trait. Anything higher or beyond one uncommon trait, which is allowed in standard creation, and the Tarael in question is labled as said rarity. For example, a Tarael with only one uncommon trait is still labled as common, while one with two uncommon traits is uncommon, and one rare trait is rare, and so on.
Of course, utilizing the Shun'ja District Marketplace can help raise the rarity of your Tarael by the purchasing of various trait and cosmetic items c:

Can I make a Tarael who is high-ranking?
Yes, to an extent! Taralian society is set-up so that politically powerful families, even high-ranking ones, are absolutely huge (sometimes consisting of dozens of smaller, interconnected extended kin groups). You are free to make your Tarael of any background without restrictions.
However!, you CANNOT make a Tarael, of any rank or social/political standing that you try to claim as a district head or leader, and you absolutely cannot claim for them to be the Tarake (the planet's equivalent of a queen) or any immediate family member.
You also CANNOT use this to gain rare-er traits than you're otherwise allowed! Making a Tarael in a politically or socially important extended family does not inherently give them rare traits, so don't try to use that as a way to fast-track! Again, you can put your character anywhere in their world with restrictions on direct political and social leadership circles.

Do I have to follow the background and history you've given the Tarael? (Can I use the species to make a fan character for X fandom?)
Absolutely you can!
I designed the species to have a distinct culture and background for anyone who was interested in that information and wanted to take part in their unique world, but they are certainly not restricted to that setting alone. The Tarael, while inspired by sci-fi fandoms like Star Wars (fun fact: they were originally made for a Star Wars fanfiction!), are certainly allowed to be used for any fandom that you would like to put your character in.

Do I have to join the deviantart group to make one?
Nope! Though you will be able to get more out of the community and future additions to the group, you don't have to join in order to make one.
Do I have to register ones I obtain?
Yes and no! Members of the group MUST create a profile for their Tarael character after obtaining them before they can participate in any group events or functions, but it's not something that can be forced if someone is not part of the group.
- Not only does this allow for a one-stop reference point for the character, it also helps to keep track of any rarer traits, mutations and thensome.
How many can I make?
As many as you'd like!
Can I sell Tarael I don't want anymore?
Depending on the situation, no, unless you bought it from DarthSuki, an approved designer or a guest designer, you should not be selling your Tarael.
- If you did purchase one from an approved designer, you are only allowed to sell them for as much as you bought them for.
- You are more than welcome to trade, give away, or raffle them!
Can I make adoptables?
Yes & No. While only approved designers are able to sell Tarael of any rarity, there are other options:
- You can create free adoptables, provided they follow the same rules as if you were making your own (see first section)
Can I commission someone for a custom?
For any rarity above what is allowed normally: Only if they are DarthSuki or an approved designer!
- If someone is willing to give you a design for free or trade, that's fine!
- Please do not demand customs from people if they are unwilling!
