By purchasing, adopting, selling and owning a Tarael character, you agree to the rules and regulations below. Please make sure that if you plan on owning a Taralian character, you read through these rules and understand their meaning.
Full rights to the species are property of myself, DarthSuki, and allow me full rights to sell, distribute, and create any of the Tarael species unless it is otherwise stated in a journal or other personal announcement. These rights are also extended to anyone labeled with 'Legendary Rights', and are also allowed to sell, distribute, and create any Tarael character. I retain partial rights to all of my original Taralian designs, and partial rights to all MYO creations through ownership of the species itself.
The Tarael are an open species, which means you're free to create your own Taralian, but only while following the described rules in the FAQ document. You are also able to obtain one from someone who already owns a design and wants to sell or give it away to you (for an equal or lesser price than what was originally paid, in the event of selling).
The only ones other than myself who are allowed to create and sell Tarael adoptables for a profit freely are listed in the Approved Owners Journal and are labeled under 'Legendary Rights' owners.

The rules below are what must be followed when owning a Tarael character:
- I will report deviations that break the rules, but I'm not going to be unforgiving if it's a misunderstanding; if a trait, ability or thensome needs to be clarified or you have questions, I'm more than happy to answer them! I want this species to spark creativity and character development, not make people feel scared or restricted in making them.
- You are allowed to sell, trade or give away a Taralian if you own one, though the selling price must be equal or lesser to what you originally paid (if you paid at all). Please make sure to note me of the new owner so I can update the approved owners journal.
- Minor changes to a design are more than allowed even after originally drawn and paid for, such as hair style, addition of jewlery, etc.
- Major changes (such as the addition of a uncommon trait or above) are not allowed unless it is approved or made available through the use of a special item from the Shun'ja District Market journal.
- You have full rights into the background, history, personality and thensome for your Taralian character upon ownership--go crazy with your imagination! Since they are alien-like in appearance, they will fit fairly well with most all fandoms and universes that are sci-fi/fantasy.
- As long as you adhere to the original design that was paid for, you may draw your Taralian however you like (older, younger, human form, ect).
- You are able to use your character in any non-commercial, personal media. This includes art, fanfiction, but also t-shirts, plushies, sculptures, etc.
- You can get or take commissions of any Tarael character in any form, as long as there is species credit on the final product.
- Anyone is freely allowed to create adoptables for non-profit, provided the adoptables also adhere to the general MYO rules of a Tarael character.
- Membership to TaraelTraditions is not required to create a Tarael or create a work that features a Tarael, but it will allow for you to take part in the community and events that are planned for the future. Membership is required if you plan on taking part in purchasing special trait items or similar in order to add rare traits onto your Tarael.
- No matter what, you must always have a species credit in anything you create with your character, inside and out of deviantart.
